For a while I have admired the conch piercing especially those with a ring, so after trying to decide if I wanted to get my tragus or conch pierced, I settled for my conch knowing I was going to do it at some point any way. I usually go to Up in Smoke in Croydon however after a few incidents with people getting pierced with the wrong thing and me personally not being too up for travelling all the way to Croydon, I found a more local piercers to me.
I’m very careful when I go to get piercings and to be honest I wouldn’t have gone to Up in Smoke originally apart from a close friend recommending them, but this time I went to Long Island Ink on Sutton Common Road where they had really good reviews and their prices were decent. I emailed them about the piercing and got a quick and helpful reply so I booked in with them after my grading.
I went there today and had my conch pierced by a really lovely girl called Charlotte who was amazing and so so nice, she couldn’t do enough to help me and is finding me a ring to put in after a few months and they even do a check up with you via text to make sure the piercings okay. If your in South-East London I would totally recommend going there for tattoos or piercings.
When I was planning this piercing the main thing I worried about was how much it would hurt. I’m not such a wuss when it comes to pain, I can easily take a beating and pain isn’t such an issue for me. However this one did hurt considerably more than my other piercings, including my rook. I also heard the crunch as it went through my cartilage which I didn’t hear with my other piercings, but the pain lasted all of twenty seconds. My piercer had a slight issue trying to get my ball on the front of my bar but managed it with out causing me any pain. I am planning on changing this to a ring when I can and my piercer is looking for a plain hoop to change it too in a few months time, but in the mean time I am loving the stud. It bled a little bit but not too much which is good and the piercing went smoothly. I’d say this is one of my favourites and is definitely worth getting done if you want it. Out of 10 the pain was about a 7 or 8 for all of twenty seconds, and it only stung after when I went outside because we’re currently in the minus’ here in the UK.

Sorry for not posting for a while, college has been a bit hectic with deadlines as well as preparing for a national grading for karate, but now its almost all sorted, here is a blog post! I’m going to attempt to do blogmas for you all so keep watching this space!
After seeing this on Twitter I wanted to buy it and see what it was like. I wanted to get the Anastasia Beverly Hills glow kit but it costs too much to import to the UK so I thought I would try this one first. It cost me £22 and took about a week to turn up in the post, and having read the reviews on it I was really excited to get it. I love a bit of good highlight and had been using a mix of Sleeks contour palette highlighter and a £4 MUA one. When this one turned up I was so excited to use it and couldn’t wait to do my make up the next morning. However I found the brush it came with didn’t pick up any product and since I don’t have a fan brush I ended up using my finger to apply it. Its also very glittery… to the point that my boyfriends face usually ends up covered in it too when I use it!!
I think despite the glittery side of it, it is a good highlighter, its subtle but I think when caught in the right light it could look really good, I personally prefer less glittery make up especially when it comes to highlighter, although I do think its a good product. You get a lot of product for the price and its very pigmented so it is definitely worth a try.
With only a month and a bit left until 2017, its getting to that time of year where people start thinking of how to better themselves and start christmas shopping. So I since I’m never usually one for doing that (apart from buying xmas presents), I thought I’d make a list of things to do before 2017.
The first thing I want to do is clean out my room. I want to go through all my clothes, shoes, college books, everything and just sort out what I want and what I dont, because I’m reaching the point that I’m seriously running out of room and my floors becoming an extended wardrobe. I then want to sift through all that and give away what I can to charity shops and throw away the rest.
The second thing is I want to sort my eating habits. I have a really bad case of IBS to the point my doctors have me on various medications to try help ease and control it. I’ve been told to follow the FODMAP diet religiously but I haven’t had a chance yet. The down side of still living at home is my dad wont let me do the weekly shop, so I have no control over what is brought. I want to start making weekly meal plans and actually making sure that I’m eating clean and sticking to the diet.
The third thing is I want to start taking more pictures because I want to, not because its for my college project. I want to feel the love for photography that I always had before I started this course. This course seems to have sucked my love for photography away a bit and I want to fight to regain that.
The fourth thing is I want to do blogmas. I want to try and put up a blog post every day in December, through to Christmas. Now for me that’s going to be tough as I have a busy work and uni schedule, but I promise that I’m going to try, even if I just write a bit of a ramble about the day.
The fifth and final thing I want to do is get my conch pierced. For ages I’ve been admiring other peoples conch piercings online, especially with the ring, I think it looks super cute. However I just haven’t braved it and got it done yet. Now that my rook piercing is pretty much healed, I want to go get my conch done. It was a toss up between tragus and conch, but I just knew that either way I was going to get my conch done eventually so I decided to get that first.
I recently got my Urban Decay Illuminated high lighter a new eyeliner that I will be reviewing for you guys in a few days once I’ve had a chance to try them out.
So its about half ten and I have loads of energy and I’m totally excited over nothing. I’ve been up since half six this morning and spent a whole day stressing at college, yet I have enough energy to willingly go for a sprint. My dog is also totally judging my dance moves to Beyonce right now as well.
Today I’ve had a lot of time to thing about the future and where I’m hoping next year will go, because to be totally honest, this years been shit for a majority of us. Next year I am viewing as the start to my adult life. I’m nineteen and living at home with my parents and until the beginning of this year I had no idea where my life was going. I’d had a shitty end to 2015 and 2016 started looking up until a few months ago. Either way in 2017 I have a lot of ideas. I’ve applied for new jobs because I want to get out the bike trade and into something more stable, and I’ve also applied for university to study at St Georges University in Tooting, or Kings College London or Brunel – we’ll see which if any accepts me. Either way, I feel what ever happens with uni will happen for a reason, I’ll either go study and work my butt off for three years potentially five if I gain a masters, or I’ll go into full time work and work my way up through experience. Either way what ever happens, happens for a reason.
Apart from uni I’m also going to quit karate and try out running. I wanted to try running a few years back but I was a lot more shy then and it clashed with karate, and at that time I was very much into karate. However its recently been causing me more stress than its worth so after my national grading to get my brown belt in two weeks, I’m gonna take a break and give something else a try. Running will also help out with my cycling as well which is a plus. I’m so excited about trying it out that I’ve been googling outfits and I’m so excited I can’t actually contain my excitement.
I’m also going to brave it and follow my fashion and make up instinct. I know the kind of fashion that I like and I know my style, I’m just not confident wearing my style. I’ve been trying to build up to it, but I always feel too over dressed if ya get what I mean? So next year I’m going to try and get more confident with myself and how I look.
Either way next year I am hoping is going to be a good year for me and I’m hoping to make the most of it. I know its a bit early, but I genuinely have so much energy right now I had to get some of it out, and hey, thats what a blogs for right? Either way there will be an eye look posted soon with my new Tarte eyeshadow palette!!
I saw this palette on a tutorial on Instagram and fell in love with it so I had to order it. The only problem was getting it to the UK from America, however I braved it and paid the extra £25 to get it over because I wanted it so much, and I’ll be totally honest with you, I’m so glad I did.
It comes in a matt black case with a gold base, which once opened is the gold base of the palette. The only down side to this is you can see your finger prints all over it, especially on the bottom, but if your not too fussed about that like me, then thats no problem, its a beautiful looking palette and worth it. When I opened it, the first thing that hit me was the scent of it, it smells like chocolate I think but others may disagree. The pigment of this palette is unreal! You literally tap your finger lightly on it, and you have a good load of pigment on your finger, so I feel as if this palette is going to last a long time because I’m not going to need much on my brush to get the desired colours.
The colours of the shadows was the main reason I wanted this palette, because of the shades being some I just can’t seem to find, however my favourite ones are whimsy, mod and drama. I also think that minx and ethereal are really nice wintery shimmery shades that I can’t wait to use. Looking at the palette as well you can easily see various eye shadow combinations that will look good together, either by following the line across or mix matching. I’m planning on using this palette tomorrow or next week for my boyfriends birthday so I will post a photo of eye looks that I make with this palette, but this is 100% a recommend. Let me know what other eye shadow palettes I should try out!
I have a slight obsession with candles and always have done, it might just be because I love the smells and how homely they can make a place feel, or it could also be partly because my dad had a strict no candle rule which I bent into a no lighting the candles rule at about sixteen. Since then my collections grown from a £3.00 jelly bean candle, to a decent sized collection of Yankee Candles & melts. I previously purchased Season of Peace (I love), Cinnamon (decent but not a strong scent when burning), Christmas Memories (I love but very sweet smelling) and Home Sweet Home (also a love).
This time I brought one candle and two melts, I’m currently burning one melt as we speak. These were the Ebony & Oak melt, which is a really homey scent which I can’t wait to use, its perfect for those evenings after a bath with dim lighting to get your room feeling and smelling cosy. I’m looking forward to using this melt soon! I also purchased the Spiced Orange melt because it has sweet tones with out being sickly sweet, its also got a zingy undertone which I really like. I feel this one is perfect if your like me and aren’t overly keen on too sweet of a scent yet want to get in the christmassy/wintery mood.
The last one I purchased was a candle and this was the Red Apple Wreath candle. I took a bit of a gamble, hoping it wasn’t too sweet, however this is a perfect candle if again you dont like anything overly sweet smelling. It looks gorgeous too with dark red wax, I brought this in the tumbler because I prefer the look of those to the jars.
Whats your favourite Yankee Candle scent? Let me know in the comments below so I know what other scents to try!!
